Who We Are and Our Purpose
The Western Ohio Watercolor Society (WOWS) was founded in 1974 to advance the stature of watercolor as a fine art medium and generate public interest and appreciation for this beautiful and unique painting method. Today, WOWS is a community of water media artists with a common interest in promoting, teaching, and learning the art of aqueous painting. To this end, the society sponsors two annual members’ exhibitions (spring and fall), demonstrations and lectures, and publishes a monthly newsletter that shares the interests and efforts of the membership.
Staying Connected
WOWS meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month in March, April, May, June, September, and October and are open to the public. (No meetings the months of: January, February, July, August, November and December.) They feature a short welcome and information-sharing segment, followed by a demonstration or lecture program provided by local and regional experts in the field of watercolor painting or other relevant subjects.
Meeting location is at the Fairborn Art Association Gallery (in the rear of the Flyers Landing apartments building) at 221 North Central Avenue, Fairborn, Ohio 45324
